“The príncipe jardinero y fingido Cloridano, of Santiago de Pita y Borroto”, edited between 1730 and 1733 in Sevilla, is considered the first Cuban theatrical play. Among the main Theatrical Cuban Collectives founded after 1959 we can mention the Escambray Theater Group, Estudio Theater, The Rita Montaner Company and some other contemporary groups recognized inside and outside the country, like the El Público Theatre Group and Argos Theatre.
