Havana will be the embarkation and disembarkation port for the Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines company, based in the United Kingdom, for the 2021-2022 season in the Caribbean, aboard the Braemar ship.
As announced by that company, having the Cuban capital as their new homeport really allows them to showcase the Caribbean in all its glory and means they can offer guests time to enjoy this vibrant city, with overnight port departures or overnight stays where possible.
"Havana has always provided very good satisfaction for our passengers and has had good satisfaction scores for our guests, so it's great to offer them more opportunities to experience it," he explained.
Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines is relaunching its Caribbean itineraries next year to showcase two types of vacation experiences to its guests: those looking to refresh and recharge their batteries with some winter sun, and those looking to immerse themselves in the history and culture of the island they are visiting.
The company thanked Cuba for allowing the ship affected by an outbreak of COVID-19 to dock in 2020, and assisting in the repatriation of its passengers to the UK.
