The Trinidadian beaches, despite being in the south and not being as extensive as others in Cuba, boast all the characteristics that make the Caribbean beaches unique.
Ancon Beach
One of the best beaches in southern Cuba. Located on the Ancon Peninsula, 12 km from Trinidad, this beach is a must for anyone who wishes to make a trip through Cuba.
You can access from Trinidad, through the taxis that day to day depart towards Playa Ancón or take the tourist bus that leaves the city at different times, with a cost of 5 CUC and guarantee the return. You also have the option of going on a rented bike or staying at the Hotel Ancón, the closest to that beach.
The crystal clear and always warm waters arouse the curiosity of the bathers. Diving and snorkeling are some of the biggest attractions of this area. If you are a lover of marine sports, one of the main diving centers of Cuba is located at Hotel Ancón. You will enjoy impressive archaeological remains found in this area, as well as the wide variety of coral reefs. Its seabed is full of accidents, sponges, black corals, tunnels, as well as remains of galleons and ships from the colonial era, when corsairs and pirates tried to attack the town.
La Boca Beach
It may not be one of the most frequented beaches by travelers, but exactly in that lies its greatest attraction. When being in a mouth to the Caribbean Sea, the shore is formed by small stones. However, these are not impediments to swimming in its calm waters.
It is located about 8 km from Trinidad, so you can access the beach in one of the taxis that leave the villa or rent a bicycle. It is important to know that the Tourist Bus that goes to Playa Ancón passes through La Boca. In the small town there are houses that are rented by nationals and travelers.
It is named for the shape of the mouth of the rivers that, from an aerial view, recalls the shape of a mouth. Others associate their name with the multiple entrances that the sea makes on its shore; tickets that are used by bathers to take a dip.
The views of the Escambray mountains, from this point, are spectacular. Its warm and transparent waters invite all visitors to take a pleasant bath. So, if you prefer to meet and share with the Cubans of the center of the country in full holiday enjoyment, this is the ideal beach.
La Batea Beach
A place that also has its magic touch. It is a cove of crystalline waters and fine sand, although the shore is rocky. A quiet space, without much tourism, but equipped to make the visitor feel at ease.
It has umbrellas to shelter from the intense sun, in addition to small establishments to drink or eat something while breathing the sea air or taking a bath. It is also located a few kilometers from the city of Trinidad and is a beach that many prefer, especially for the calm and peace you feel. It is a natural pool, excellent for swimming between corals and fish of different colors and species. An ideal time to be at peace with nature.
