The general Customs of the Republic of Cuba along with the Ministry of Public Health strengthen measures at the different air borders and maritime of the country in order to identify possible cases of Covid-19.
A press team carried out a tour around the Terminal 3 of the International Airport José Martí in Havana, since this is the most passengers traffic terminal in Cuba.

The team was able to appreciate how the staff that work here and those that visit the air border protect themselves and apply the causes measures stablished by the World Health Organization (WHO).
Upon arrival, travelers are interviewed by a doctor and a nurse, who ask them country of origin and if they had contact with an ill person, if they have an symptom of fever, cough or vomit.

Moreover, travelers are temperature taken, in the event of Cuban citizens are advised to go immediately to family doctors’ offices for tracking and observation since symptoms of this coronavirus can appear in just in two days or even in 14 days after.
For the time being, the country’s government does not pretend closing borders, limit the entrance of certain tourists on the island or diminish the amount of flights. However, surveillance is strengthened on passengers that come from counties that are more affected with this pandemic, according to Jorge Luis Bubaire, head of the Customs of the International Airport José Martí.

The Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic started late last year in Wuhan City, when a group of people with unknown cause pneumonia were reported. It is transmitted from person to person and it would not be strange if new cases continue to be confirmed in other areas of the Asian country and in other countries due to population movements.
In any case, it is recommended to apply measures to limit the risk of exporting or importing the disease.
