Excursion to the Yunque Waterfall
Pleasant excursion bordering the Duaba River, enjoying the landscape that prevails in the area as well as the beauty and greenery of the vegetation, the singing of the birds that cheer the place, the peasant traditions, continues through a forest that leads to the Duaba river, where you can carry out bath or simply cross the river and discover a pleasant waterfall of fresh and crystalline waters.
Excursion The Balcony of Iberia
This trail is located in the areas of the "Alejandro de Humboldt" National Park 40 km from the city, starting from the first pass of the Santa María river, then passing through a flat area of approximately 1.5 km surrounded by rich vegetation in fruit trees, timber trees and medicinal plants.
In a second stage the ascent to one of the most important elevations of the municipality of Monte de Iberia with a height of 740 m above sea level where you can observe exclusive birds besides the birth of the river Santa Maria, to enjoy a comfortable bath in the river and in the waterfall "Majá".
El Recreo Excursion
The trail has a length of 3 km, during the first kilometer a small elevation is crossed through a forest of Cubensis pine in a natural state, the most diffused soil (red ferrific) in the region is exposed, showing the presence of high content of Iron, is crossed by an intra-montane valley with particular landscape characteristics (Ecotono between pine and pluvisilva) very close to the river Taco, is crossed by evergreen forests where species of trees and birds of different types are observed. It finishes with a bath in a natural swimming pool that offers the own Taco river.
Excursion to the Yumurí River Canyon
Transfer from Baracoa to the top of the pretty girl, small stop to enjoy the landscape of the area, take photos etc.
Continue to the town of El Güirito, visit to a cocoa plantation, to enjoy the secrets of the preparation and traditional process of cacao, continue to Mata Bay and then to El Yumurí River Canyon, free time, boat ride to the interior of the canyon, bath time in the river, return to the village, return transfer to Manglito beach (fishermen village, where a beach is protected by a coral reef), free time (bath), return to the city.
Cocoa Tradition Excursion
The ideal excursion to know the cultivation of cacao and the traditions related to this important economic line of Baracoa. On the way you will see the only Chocolate Factory of its kind in Cuba, inaugurated by the Ché in 1963. It includes:

Description (Itinerary):
- Road trip of 35 km to the area of Los Monitongos.
- 1.5 km walk along the Los Monitongos trail within the Sierra Maestra National Park.

Excursion to the Stone Zoo
Unique of its kind in the world and Cultural Patrimony of Cuba since 1985 that with the passage of time has become an interesting natural park. Exceptional work created in 1977 by the self-taught sculptor Angel Iñigo Blanco, with more than 400 stone works. His son Ángel Iñigo Pérez is the continuator of the work enhancing the human figure from various manifestations almost always linked to the world of animals.
Description (Itinerary):
- Travel of 24 km by road to the farm where the Zoo is located.
- Tour through the Stone Zoo, through the trail can be observed in situ works carved for over 37 years in an environment surrounded by ferns, fruit trees and precious woods.
- To climb to the highest part will ascend through 324 steps and 245 on the way back, despite the height that must be traveled in this rustic environment visitors are pleased by the beauty of their sculptural work, climate and vegetation.
