Hill of the Cross-Loma de la Cruz

It is the city viewpoint. Formerly called Cerro del Bayado. In May 3rd, 1790 its name was changed when fray Antonio de Alegría placed a big cross at the top of this hill to frighten away demons and begin a catholic pilgrimage, the cross pilgrimage. You reach its summit through a long 458 step-staircase, built between 1927 and 1950.

Provincial Museum of History ''La Periquera ''

In chronological order and through five rooms, it shows the main moments during this territory history. Francisco Roldán´s old dwelling, abandoned by its owner who migrated to Gibara. It owes its name to the parakeet-like color of the Spanish troops uniforms who were quartered in the building when the mambises- Cuban rebels in 1868 uprising- besieged Holguín.

Provincial Museum of Natural History Carlos de la Torre Huerta

It has one of the most important collections of ornithology and malacology in the country and the Antilles. It is the city most representative building of eclecticism.

Calixto García's Birthplace Museum

The life of Major General Calixto García can be seen here through manuscripts, personal articles, weapons of the time, memories jealously preserved in each of the rooms of the Garcia-Iñiguez family former home.

Main Theater Eddy Suñol

Home of the lyrical theater of Holguin, Rodrigo Prat. Located in the center of the Ciudad de los Parques, it has three halls, the main one with 836 capacities, the alternative one Alberto Dávalos with 205 and the Ismaelillo hall with 350. The productions, concerts, galas and shows are produced in the schedules of 9 pm of Tuesdays to Saturdays, and Sundays at 10 am and 5 pm.

Cathedral of San Isidoro

Construction of the eighteenth century that houses the highest ecclesiastical institution in Holguin, consecrated as Cathedral in 1979.

San José Church

It is one of the most peaceful parks in the city, this church is one of its most significants architectural monuments. Its construction finished in 1815, but continuous works have taken it to the sturdiest appearance of neoclassical style.

Centro Cultural Plaza de la Marqueta

The Plaza de La Marqueta is a distinguished place, a cultural, commercial and historical space that is located in the historical center of Holguin city. It was inaugurated in 1848 and currently it is one of the cultural attractions of the city of Parks. In the corridors there is an old printing house, bazaars for the exhibition and sale of works by artisans, plastic artists and writers, an engraving workshop and an art gallery. In the nineteenth century the site was Plaza O'Donell. In the 20th century, the market was built and, later, ceramic ovens and workshops were installed there until the year 2000.
