What to Do in Holguín?

Holguin, also known as "The most beautiful land", has several protected natural areas that you cannot miss. It also has different tours for the main points of interest of the city, as well as excursions by land or sea with itineraries carefully designed for the greatest use of time.

Provincial Museum of History, La Periquera

In chronological order and through five rooms shows the main moments in the history of the territory. It owes its name to the color of the uniforms of the Spanish troops who were quartered in the building when the Mambises besieged Holguín. Open Tuesday to Saturday from 8am to 12pm and Sundays from 8am to 2pm.

Naranjo Bay

In this zone we find presence of the complex of rocky coastline vegetation. The landscape is composed mainly by scrub that alternates with the forest. In the low and marshy interior of Naranjo Bay, mangroves are located very well conserved. The activities here are hiking, horseback riding, rural tourism and more.

Loma de la Cruz

Viewpoint of the city. It was formerly called Cerro del Bayado, but changed its name when on May 3, 1790, Fray Antonio de Alegría placed a large cross on its top in order to frighten the demons and start a Catholic pilgrimage. At its top is reached by a long staircase of 458 steps, built between 1927 and 1950. Despite its height, it is a must see for the incredible view of the city.
