The first three days of November will be of pure road cycling in the Havana’s Malecon on account of the celebration of the 19th Caribbean Championship. David Lappartient, head of the International Cycling Union (UCI) has confirmed his participation and other 25 nations and 115 riders appear already registered.

The event will be one of the activities to celebrate the 500 years of Havana foundation. Fans of this discipline will attend to the main thoroughfare of the Cuban capital on Saturday morning, November 2nd to enjoy the individual time trial female (22.8 kms) and male (34.2kms).

The route for ladies (68.4 km) and men (125.4 km) is scheduled for Monday morning. Both competitions will give points for the UCI ranking to the top ten arriving at the finish line that will be located in the well-known Piragua, after an 11.6 km circuit that goes from la Punta to 12th street.

One day before the beginning of the competitions, the UCI Exchange Platform will be hosted at Comodoro Hotel. It will be dedicated to the struggle against doping in a sport hit by this scourge in recent years, especially in America. The legal Counsel of the UCI Anti-Doping Service, Justin Lessard, will give a conference on the matter.
