The up till now first vice minister of Tourism, Juan Carlos García Granada, is the new Minister of the branch, after the Cuban president, Miguel Díaz-Canel, appointed Manuel Marrero Cruz as Prime Minister of the country.
When the proposition of the new Council of Ministers was presented, Díaz- Canel assured that everyone possesses “a wide management experience, occupying ascendingly different positions and also having other qualities for we consider they are in a position of being part of the Council of Ministers.”

About a month ago, during the opening of the Paseo del Prado hotel, García Granada stated: “All of our actions are focused on continuing developing the tourism industry as one of the main sectors in the economic contribution to the country. Cuba and tourism open up to new business opportunities”.
