The Iberostar Group began its staggered reopening calendar in Cuba with the return to operations of several of its hotels in the Varadero resort.

We are very happy to reopen hotels in a destination as important as Cuba, where the Iberostar Group has been operating for almost 30 years, said Miguel Fluxá, Iberostar chairman.

He noted that they have worked for months to get to this moment and the ¨How We Care¨ health security program has already been an example of success in other destinations where they operate.

According to Fluxá, they are moving steadily in the new scenario, reinforcing customer confidence and consolidating an increasingly responsible tourism model.

We are very pleased to contribute to the reopening of this destination along with local authorities and key partners for us such as Condor. Together, we have the infrastructures, the experience and the talent to guarantee a safe vacation in Cuba, he added.

Ralf Teckentrup, CEO of Condor, stated that Germans want to go on vacation and feel comfortable and safe while doing so, especially when traveling in times of COVID-19.

Cuba ticks all the boxes for a perfect getaway: Caribbean temperatures, good hotels and wonderful beaches for bathing and relaxing, said Teckentrup, adding that for 65 years they have reliably and safely taken their guests to vacation destinations, and will continue to doing it even in special moments like these.

The Iberostar Group is a Spanish multinational company dedicated to the tourism business for more than 60 years and Iberostar Hotels & Resorts is its main asset, with more than 100 four and five-star hotels in 16 countries, and a global team of more than 34,500 people of 91 nationalities.
