The province characterizes by a rainy tropical weather, with summers relatively humid (Savannah). However, in Sierra del Rosario, unlike the rest of the province, the experts classify it as a rainy tropical climate with a very humid tropical forest summer.
Temperature are relatively high in the territory. The annual average variates from 24 C⁰ to 26 C⁰ in the planicies, although they do not exceed 35 C⁰ in the summer. The weather is less hot from November to April and it is known as “winter period”, whereas from May to October, warmer months, it is called “summer period”.
The relative humidity of the territory is high that ranges at about 80%. The high levels commonly occur at the sunrise, generally above 90%. The lowest ones gradually descend until 50 to 60 percent in the indoor of the territory at noon. Western and central regions are the wettest areas in the country along with the mountainous zones. The rainy season goes from May to October and it is especially strong in September and October.

Conocido como invierno, las variaciones del tiempo y el clima se hacen más notables, con cambios bruscos en el tiempo diario, asociados al paso de sistemas frontales. Es más apreciable en la mitad occidental que en la oriental.
Lluvioso (mayo a octubre):
Conocido como verano, hay pocas variaciones en el tiempo, siendo los cambios más importantes producto al paso de ondas del este y ciclones tropicales.
