Architecture

The architecture of Cienfuegos, Cuba is characterized by its classicism, either in its neoclassical phase of the second half of the nineteenth century, or eclectic, until the first half of the twentieth century. It has valuable buildings, and what is predominant in it is the good state of conservation of the urban area, in which symmetry, proportionality and the use of decorative elements of the classical formal code are appreciated. Domes, pediments, towers-vantage points and ornaments such as lion pairs stand out, complementing an architectural task that is distinguished by its sobriety, elegance and good constructive work
