More than 70 thousand national visitors arrived, from January to present day, to Cayo Coco and Guillermo facilities, located in Ciego de Ávila province’s the northern coast, according to the Territory Tourist Ministry representative, Iyolexis Correa Lorenzo.
She underscored that in order to keep this reception rate of national tourists, which tends to grow, there are adequate marketing strategies, supported on the service quality, varied offers and the place charms.

Besides these the commercial management that encourages this statistic, there are held Fair of opportunities in Ciego de Ávila and Moron municipalities every weekend, as well as in other regions of the country. Travelling bureaus are also included in these offers.
These fairs offer products on sale despite the fact that they do not cover a wide sector of the population, they allow to those who decide to spend some days at the cays adjust their budget concerning the offers.

Correa Lorenzo also informed this Cuban tourists’ figure yields a rise regarding last year same period, which shows the increase interest for Ciego de Ávila destination, that put at clients reach facilities surrounded by nature and singular beauty.

The territory tourism representative informed that there is a development agenda until 2030 with a projection of building 22 new hotels that include not only Cayo Coco and Cayo Guillermo, but also Cayo Paredón Grande and Cayo Antón Chico, so it will allow increasing the current hotel infrastructure up to 12 thousand rooms so as to get about 20 thousand rooms that intended year.

During the previous year the spa located on the north coast of Ciego de Ávila received 491 thousand 429 visitors, between nationals and foreigners, which represented a growth of 12 percent in relation to the figure reached in 2017 and positions it as one of the main poles of the leisure industry in Cuba.
