Architecture of Cuba
From the fortresses that served to defend the island against the corsair and pirate attacks, to the plazas and colonial buildings that tell its history, Cuban architecture exhibits in its parks, constructions and cities a mix of styles that comes from its genesis and influences. Eclecticism, baroque, neo-gothic, art nouveau and other currents can be seen in the columns, pedestals, ceilings, windows, stained glasses, etc. A whole array of expressions where architects, sculptors or just creators left their footprints. Every Cuban city distinguishes itself and architecture is one of the elements that attract visitors the most.
