Main exponents of Las Tunas architecture
In Las Tunas city, the most representative exponents of the eclectic style are: the Vicente Garcia Provincial Museum, the Jose Marti Provincial Library and the Vicente Garcia Memorial.
Eclecticism and Art Deco manifest themselves with similar force, although the former dominates slightly in the Urban Historic Center, but in the city the Art Deco is more widespread.Among the most significant urban spaces stand out: the Vicente Garcia Gonzalez Central Park (former Plaza de Armas founded in 1915).
With the revolutionary triumph of 1959,countless works of great significance have emerged where the integration of Arts and Architecture with the collaboration of plastic artists, architects, builders and other young and renowned specialists is highlighted with great desire to develop the Cuban culture and raise it to the top of the international podium. Among all these works are: The Fountain of the Antilles, The Marti Square and the Major General Vicente Garcia Gonzalez Revolution Square.
